MISSION To build an informed, just, and accountable society so all people can experience supportive and safe relationships free from abuse, exploitation, and oppression. We do this through education, prevention, advocacy, and providing comprehensive services, including shelter, to victims and survivors of interpersonal violence, human trafficking, sexual violence, and other types of crime victimization.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Community Education Advocate is primarily responsible for coordinating, designing, and delivering education, outreach, and training programs on topics consistent with the agencys mission and purpose. This includes supporting agency training for staff, interns & volunteers as well as community training needs and events. When necessary, they will support the provision of direct services to victims/survivors around needs arising from, but not limited to, interpersonal violence, human trafficking, teen dating violence, sexual violence, and other types of crime victimization.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING ALONG
Must have a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, international relations, or a related field or equivalent work experience in providing Direct Crisis Counseling and Advocacy Services. Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office programs and have experience with client management software. Experience creating presentations, facilitating programs, and providing training for large groups. Valid Driver’s License, Auto Insurance, and reliable transportation to travel between the agency’s office sites and other locations throughout the service region. Physical demands include but are not limited to long periods of sitting, standing, walking, driving, lifting up to 50 pounds, and navigating stairs.

WORK HOURS
Typically, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with flexibility around evenings, weekends, and holidays. Note, primarily business hours with evening shifts require one holiday per year.
Key Responsibilities Education, Training & Program Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the other members of the Education Team and other agency program teams to ensure that all educational materials reflect Fearless! values and materials are informed by our in-house practices to ensure alignment with our external messaging strategy. Contact community groups, government agencies, businesses, and organizations to organize training, education, and awareness activities within Orange and Sullivan Counties. Deliver training and education to underserved and marginalized populations As needed, assist in training staff, interns, and volunteers during Advocate Training sessions. Collaborate with the Prevention and Education team and other departments to plan, participate, and host community outreach and awareness events. Distribute brochures, safety posters, and other materials throughout the service region. Work with the Prevention and Community Education team to create content for social media and other branded promotional materials. Contact schools, higher education, and youth-serving organizations to promote prevention education and awareness activities Develop, design, and maintain training presentations and materials as needed. Ensure evaluation forms are completed and summarized after presentations. Maintain prevention/education data and service records. As needed, represent the agency at network events, meetings, task forces, and outreach events. Provide support as needed to the Prevention Education Team by facilitating primary prevention programming to students in area elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, and post-secondary schools focused on empathy, self-esteem, feelings, boundaries, consent, healthy relationships, and bystander intervention. In addition, conduct training for educators, administrators, and staff in Orange and Sullivan School and Higher Education systems focused on improving systemic response to teen dating violence and sexual abuse. Administrative & Agency Responsibilities Engage in supervision with the direct supervisor and Program Director to ensure effective performance and optimal client impact. Program-specific, agency-wide meetings, training, awareness month activities, and events. Maintain the confidentiality of clients, staff, volunteers, and agency information. Maintain the highest levels of accuracy in recordkeeping and reporting, ensuring that all client records and documentation of work activities are complete and up-to-date and submitted to the supervisor, as directed. Ensure timely response and follow-up to email communication and voicemail messages. Staff members are encouraged to be flexible and responsive to changes in the scope of duties, including other duties as assigned by immediate and other supervisors. Worksite Safety & Hygiene Actively engaging in basic housekeeping, maintenance, organization of donations, and other assigned tasks. Proactively monitor the overall condition of the agency and ensure the maintenance of a clean, welcoming environment for individuals accessing services. Adhere to and uphold agency policies and protocols related to the Physical and electronic security of clients and service records.

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working within residential settings and with the homeless population is preferred. Direct experience navigating legal systems, social services, and other community resources is strongly preferred. Bilingual/bicultural candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
