POSITION REPORTS TO
Senior Director of Advancement for Leadership Giving — Summary of Position The Major Gifts Officer is a seasoned and effective frontline fundraiser with the leadership abilities, interpersonal skills, and professional expertise to nurture a strong and diverse set of major donor relationships, maximize impact, and increase philanthropic revenue. — As the Major Gifts Officer, you will: Effectively manage a portfolio of major gift prospects to secure annual, leadership, major, and deferred gifts to support realistic yet challenging fundraising goals. This requires extensive travel, face-to-face meetings, and attending events on campus and throughout a designated region.
Effectively steward donor relationships in a manner that requires the highest standards of professional conduct and relational standards to ensure increasing philanthropic support.
Contribute to building a culture of philanthropy at AC by taking responsibility for other special events and activities as requested, including but not limited to the Golden Gator Club, Alumni Chapter events, sporting and cultural events, and graduation. — Experience and Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s or Doctoral Degree preferred
4-7 years of relevant experience required, 7 or more preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of all facets of charitable giving
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and independently
Excellent written and verbal skills, including active listening and the ability to distill ideas and clarify issues
Ability to think under pressure
Sensitivity, flexibility, and adaptability to balance diverse donor audiences —
YOUR COMPENSATION
New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role. This position is full time, exempt. —
