Position Summary:
The Associate Dean for the College of Health Sciences provides leadership, support, and oversight for academic programs, faculty, and student services within the college. This position assists the Dean in advancing the college’s mission, upholding the values of academic excellence, ethical leadership, service, and respect for human dignity in
alignment with the university’s Catholic identity. The Associate Dean plays a vital role in fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative academic environment that prepares future health professionals for meaningful service in their communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Dean with strategic initiatives, program development, and accreditation processes for all College of Health Sciences departments.
Provide leadership in curriculum planning, faculty mentoring, student success initiatives, and resource management.
Serve as a liaison between faculty, students, and administration to ensure open communication and effective problem-solving.
Assist in faculty and staff recruitment, retention, evaluation, and professional development.
Support efforts to maintain and enhance program accreditation, ensuring academic programs meet national standards.
Collaborate in the development of new health-related programs and interprofessional education opportunities.
Provide oversight to the College’s public-facing clinics. Assist the Chair and Dean in ensuring compliance with all University, state, and federal laws, regulations, and policies.
Oversee student affairs within the college, including academic advising, student retention, clinical placements, and student grievance processes.
Provide oversight and direction for the College’s Centers for Excellence.
Work with a college Chairs in change management, accountability, process and policy implementation.
Promote a culture of service, respect for diversity, and commitment to the Catholic intellectual tradition.
Represent the college in university-wide committees and initiatives as assigned by the Dean.
Support community outreach and partnership initiatives in health and human service fields.
Qualifications:
Terminal degree to practice in a health sciences-related discipline.
Demonstrated record of academic leadership, including curriculum development, faculty supervision, and accreditation experience.
Strong commitment to the mission and values of Catholic higher education.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience fostering a diverse and inclusive academic community.
