Position Summary Lavner Education seeks a visionary and execution-focused Director of College Prep & Admissions Consulting to help build and lead this new business line from the ground up. This individual will collaborate directly with our leadership team to design, launch, and scale a comprehensive college prep business, offering SAT/ACT test prep, AP tutoring, college application and essay coaching, and personalized academic and extracurricular planning for students in grades 9-12. We are looking for a dynamic leader with deep expertise in elite college admissions , entrepreneurial drive , and a track record of building or leading successful test prep or college consulting businesses . Key Responsibilities Strategic Development & Launch Collaborate with Lavner Education’s executive team to design the overall vision, product offerings, and go-to-market strategy for the new College Prep division. Define the service delivery model (1:1, group classes, digital content, hybrid) and pricing strategy. Develop scalable curricula for
SAT, ACT, AP
subjects, essay writing, and strategic planning for college admissions. Operational Leadership Oversee daily operations of the College Prep business including team hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management. Recruit and manage a high-performing team of instructors, consultants, and tutors. Implement and maintain operational systems, tools, and platforms to support program delivery and growth. Student & Parent Success Set high standards for client outcomes-ensuring each student receives personalized guidance that maximizes their potential and college admission chances. Lead or support premium-level consulting engagements with top-tier clients, including students targeting Ivy League and highly selective universities. Maintain strong relationships with families and ensure exceptional satisfaction. Growth & Partnerships Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships with schools, educational consultants, and parent organizations. Contribute to marketing campaigns, webinars, and info sessions that showcase the division’s offerings and expertise. Monitor performance metrics and KPIs, adjusting strategies for enrollment, retention, and satisfaction accordingly.
Qualifications Required:
Proven experience in a leadership role at a college consulting and/or test prep company OR working in a senior capacity in admissions at a top-tier university (e.g., UPenn, Stanford, Duke, NYU, etc.). Deep knowledge of the U.S. college admissions landscape, including test-optional trends, essay strategy, extracurricular planning, and school selection. Exceptional strategic planning and project management skills. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills-able to connect with students, parents, and team members alike. Entrepreneurial spirit and passion for building new ventures with excellence.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, M.Ed., or related) is a plus. Prior leadership of an educational services business. Experience in curriculum development for standardized testing (SAT, ACT, APs) and college planning programs. Familiarity with edtech platforms, CRM tools, and instructional technologies.
