POSITION PURPOSE

This position supports Career & Technical Education programs for overall operations to include coordination of federal, state, and local resources. While contributing to the district’s strategic plan to increase student achievement and the graduate rate, the CTE District Coordinator position will provide assistance to CTE teachers in BCSD middle/high schools to effectively utilize curriculum, equipment, and other state required programmatic components.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provides support services for Career & Technical Education (CTE) technical pathways to include Project Lead the Way and JROTC programs. Facilitates professional development & training for CTE teachers to utilize instructional management resources and state approved curriculum. Coordinates processes for compliance with state CTE equipment and inventory control; safety protocols with teachers; and collaboration with maintenance and facilities. Assists the CTE Director with procurement and the State Local Plan. Participates with local business, industry, colleges, and community organizations to connect workforce development resources with the schools’ CTE programs. Supports overall CTE Federal and State requirements to meet student performance indicators for College and Career Readiness strategic goals. Assists with implementation, evaluation, and monitoring of industry recognized certifications leading to stackable credentials for CTE students. Represents the district at local, state, and other professional meetings. Prepares ongoing reports, communications, and presentations to multiple stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university. Master’s preferred within an educational, supervision/administration, or workforce development content area. Must hold a valid South Carolina educator’s certification or be eligible to obtain a SC educator’s certification within 90 days of employment. Work experience preferred within the past five years in one of the following: Career & Technical Education program area; supervision in an education and/or business-related setting. Have demonstrated communication and presentation skills. Experience required with multiple education software with additional preferred experience with learning management systems. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

EXPERIENCE

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and Google products.
