This position will assist with the development, organization, and implementation of a wide range of on-campus events and initiatives related to professional and career development, student support and wellness, student organizations and leadership, and engagement with the legal community. The Student Affairs Specialist will be responsible for maintaining ongoing departmental tracking for various projects including updating confidential student records. This position will report to the Assistant Dean of Students and work closely with the Assistant Dean of Career Services, Assistant Director of Student WellnessSuccess, the Office of Career Services, and the Director of Public Service, Pro Bono, and Externships. Candidates should be comfortable working and communicating with law students, staff members, administrators, and faculty members. An important aspect of this role is managing and maintaining the school’s centralized calendar of special events. The Student Affairs Specialist will serve as the primary point of contact for event scheduling, room reservations, student parking passes, event coordination, and other logistical details. Additionally, this position will support the day-to-day operations of the Department of Student Affairs, making an interest in higher education administration essential. Responsibilities will include coordinating food for events, liaising with vendors, light lifting, and office supply ordering and pick-up.
Qualifications and Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree is required with prior administrative or academic experience a plus. Must be committed to the highest ideals of confidentiality and professionalism. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential. Must be very organized and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be able to work well with others within the context of a team. Technical knowledge of computers and proficiency with all Microsoft Office Suite programs is required. Familiarity and proficiency with Canva, Adobe Pro, and Constant Contact is a plus. Prior customer service experience is a plus. The role is in-person and requires the flexibility to transition effectively between projects and events throughout the course of a day.
