Full-Time Staff
Housing Francis Marion University and the Office of Housing and Residence Life invite applications for a Residence Life Coordinator. Under limited supervision, the successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the overall management of the University’s Housing and Residence Life program including, but not limited to: fiscal monitoring, program development and implementation, supervision of student staff, student development and conduct, enforcement of housing policies, publications and reports, and leasing plan implementation. This twelve-month position includes live-in on-campus housing. The Residence Life Coordinator is a vital member of the FMU campusmunity. The Residence Life Coordinator works with the Director of Housing and Residence Life, the Dean of Students, and other departmental staff in the development, and implementation of management and learning initiatives for the entire Residence Life operation. Teamwork and collaboration across campus and throughout the office of Housing and Residence Life is vital to the success of this position. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide overall management of the Residence Life, Resident Assistant program.
Provide coordination for operational processes such as student move-in, physical audits, safety inspections, move-outs, and damage/replacement fees.
Directly supervise Resident Assistants, including recruiting, selection, and training of resident assistants; routine supervision, continual training, meetings, and support for the resident assistant program.
Regularlymunicate and provide guidance to residents; provide support in the development of the residentialmunity and promotemunity standards.
Participate in the implementation and enforcement of student conduct and its processes as directed by the University.
Assist with the day-to-day office work duties andmunications.
Participate in staffing housing information tables at scheduled events such as open houses and orientations.
Maintain daily office hours set by the housing office and the university.
On-call scheduled rotation is required to provide service to our residents; weekend and evening hours will be required for scheduled events and as needed, for emergent, crisis, and other situations as needed.

State Requirement:

A bachelor’s degree.

FM Preferences:

A master’s degree in Student Personnel, Student Life, Residence Life, Higher Education, or Business preferred. One to five years of experience in higher education administration. Prior student housing experience is strongly preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel. Needs to be flexible, and have excellent interpersonal andmunication skills.

Additional Remuneration:

An apartment within the assigned residenceplex is provided as a residence coordinator benefit, including utilities, and is partially furnished. Additional benefits include participation in the South Carolina State Retirement, medical, dental, and vision insurance programs. Tuition assistance after six months of full time, satisfactory employment, and with permission.

Working hours:

Monday – Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm; evening and weekends as scheduled. On-call scheduled rotation is required to provide service to our residents; weekend and evening hours will be required for scheduled events and as needed, for emergent, crisis, and other situations as needed. Summer hours will vary.
