Director of Education – History Foundation Forward, Inc. Conway, SC 29526 Job Summary The Director of Education must have a passion for History around the time of the founding of our country, The U.S. Constitution, and Civics. This leadership position is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and follow-up of communications with school systems first locally, then state-wide, and finally nationally regarding our educational Foundation Forward, Inc. organization, which gifts and installs Charters of Freedom settings displaying the Declaration of Independence, United States Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Civil Rights Amendments in communities across the country. Researching and Writings based on the history of our country, working with university libraries and The National Archives will be an on-going effort. The ideal candidate will possess a strong patriotic passion with a background in U.S. History, communications. and organizational skills. Responsibilities Develop and implement a program for contacting schools and making presentations to invite their students to our “blue-sky classrooms” for annual field trips to their Charters of Freedom Setting, a permanent display of the Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitutions, Bill of Rights, and Civil Rights Amendments. Manage the education department’s input onto the website. Research and document the history surrounding the founding of our country and what the thinking was of our founding fathers when they composed our founding documents. Develop educational materials for K-12 students regarding our founding fathers, the documents they composed, and the history surrounding the founding of our country. Maintain contact data of all schools and personnel with which they worked. Experience Proven experience in History Education. Demonstrated ability to research and write effectively. Experience working directly with Adninistration, Teachers and Students. Experience in setting up working programs to accomplish the approved plan.
