Anderson University’s Office of Admission invites applications for a full-time, twelve-month position as Director of Admission. Anderson University is an innovative, entrepreneurial, premier comprehensive, liberal arts university affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. The Director of Admission is responsible and accountable for the generation of applications to the University, effectively managing the number of prospective students, and overseeing focused recruitment efforts and admission decisions for all traditional freshman, transfer, dual-enrollment, or non-degree seeking students. The Director supervises a team of Admission Counselors and will develop a strategic recruitment plan, that includes but is not limited to campus visits, planning and coordinating annual recruitment events, school visits, and daily call initiatives, that will be implemented by the counselors to target these prospective students, with the overarching goal of achieving the university’s annual enrollment goals. The Director will create clear processes and information for prospective students and families related to the Financial Aid Process; steps and documents needed for FAFSA, Federal and South Carolina Aid, and Institutional grants and scholarships, and will provide oversight in scholarship events and evaluation. Additionally, this position will provide admitted students with clear instructions on the admission and enrollment process, and work in partnership with the Associate Vice President and Dean of Traditional Admission on deposit drops, admission and financial aid appeals, and generating required annual reports. The Director of Admission will also work collaboratively with Enrollment Management leadership and the Admission Visit and Communication Teams to continuously enhance departmental communication, external events, summer recruitment, and overall guest experiences.
Knowledge equivalent to that gained through a master’s degree combined with five years of admission experience, including supervisory experience, is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, web design software, Slate (CRM), and knowledge of high school curriculum, standardized tests, like SAT and ACT registration, and the application and financial process required to attend college is preferred. Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail, the ability to connect, motivate, inspire, and the ability to relate the college experience and benefits of a postsecondary education to prospective students are essential.
