(UCF) invites applications and nominations to fill the position of Associate Athletics Director for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Advancement, the Associate Athletics Director will coordinate the fundraising program for intercollegiate athletics at UTC. This role will coordinate and lead development activity for UTC Athletics through the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of individuals, foundation, and corporations to be engaged with UTC. Responsibilities Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Fundraising:
Management of UTC Athletics fundraising program, including annual giving for UTC Athletics. Identify, cultivate, and personally solicit alumni and friends of UTC for gifts $25,000+ and manage a portfolio of 70-100 prospects and donors. Prepare and present multi-year leadership annual giving and major gift proposals to prospects with the input and assistance of the Athletics Director, VC/Executive Director of the UC Foundation, Associate VC/Advancement, athletics administrators, coaches, and other constituent and central development officers.
Leadership and Event Management:
Lead and supervise full-time athletics advancement staff and ticket operations/sales staff. Manage or assist in athletics-focused events for fundraising and stewardship purposes.
Administrative:
Other professional duties as assigned by the Associate VC/Advancement and Vice Chancellor/Director of Athletics to ensure efficiency and effectiveness for the UC Foundation and UTC Athletics, including serving as a member of the Athletics Leadership Team, sport administrator duties, and engagement with alumni affairs. Qualifications Required Education and Experience The candidate who fills the Associate Athletics Director position is required to have:
Bachelor’s degree
3+ years of experience managing and implementing fundraising initiatives including major gifts, volunteer management, personal solicitations, and capital giving in collegiate athletics setting
Willingness and ability to travel
A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required due to travel responsibilities of the position. UTFI reserves the right to consider all appropriate circumstances. In general, any significant driving offense less than 12 months old will eliminate the application from consideration for the position. Note – Candidates holding a graduate degree must have at least 1 year of experience. Preferred Education and Experience In addition to meeting the required qualifications, the preferred candidate will have:
Master’s degree
5+ years working in higher education with an understanding of development/philanthropic work in relation to higher education
Knowledge of industry trends, best practices and technology
Working knowledge of and familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations, particularly those impacting representatives of the institution’s athletics interests
