This vital role supports student success by providing individualized academic coaching and skill-building strategies to help students prepare for and pass high-stakes licensing exams prior to graduation. The Learning Specialist works closely with the DCOM Success Team to monitor outcomes, track first-time board exam pass rates, and implement interventions that improve academic performance across the student body. Key Responsibilities Provide one-on-one support and academic coaching to students, focusing on learning strategies, time management, and test-taking skills Support students preparing for licensing board exams (e.g., COMLEX) through individualized plans and study techniques Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify students in need of intervention and develop success strategies Monitor student progress and academic outcomes, contributing to the Success Team’s efforts to improve pass rates Assist with academic workshops and outreach initiatives that promote study skill development and academic confidence Maintain confidential records of academic support sessions and student outcomes Required Qualifications Master’s degree in education or a closely related field Experience in higher education, particularly in student support services or academic success coaching Preferred Qualifications Certification as a Learning Specialist Prior experience in a medical or health professions education setting Experience providing academic support or coaching in graduate-level programs State licensure or certification in a relevant professional field (if applicable) Why Join
