Responsibilities
This is an on-campus position with some hybrid/remote work schedule flexibility.
The Specialist for Academic Records and Registration serves as a key front-line representative for the Office of the University Registrar, providing essential customer service and support to students, alumni, faculty, staff, and parents. This position is responsible for handling daily processes related to academic records, course registration, transcript request processing, and document management. Key duties include generating and verifying enrollment and degree letters, processing transcript requests, reviewing repeat courses for compliance with institutional policies, maintaining student records, and updating the student information systems. The role requires strong multitasking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail, along with a collaborative team approach. Cross-training and adaptability are critical for success in managing the dynamic needs of the office and ensuring high-quality service to a diverse range of stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year experience in customer service or administrative support role
Preferred Education and Experience:
Associate’s degree or higher
- 1 year of professional experience in higher education
- 1 year experience with computer information systems, particularly database-driven software solutions, or equivalent combination
- 2 years of experience in customer service or administrative support role
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Superior customer service and time management skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks; computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
- Strong communication skills including listening, speaking, and writing.
- Problem solving and organizational skills and with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to be dependable, punctual, and a team player.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new software and processes.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of higher education.
