Position Summary Information Position Summary The Assistant Director of Admissions is responsible for supervising the Admissions communications team in attaining admissions goals. Incumbent will provide excellent customer service and oversee all aspects of prospective student communication to ensure successful contact with students and parents. Austin Peay State University is a four-year public, doctoral-level university, with six colleges and four Chairs of Excellence. The University has an enrollment of over 10,000 students and is located in Clarksville, Tennessee, a community of an estimated 180,000 people located approximately 40 miles northwest of Nashville, TN. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Supervise the admissions communications team,.
Act in a supporting manner to all Admissions communications team activities, including front-line telephone, e-mail, reception activities, mailings, returned mail, duplicate student record resolution, and student escalations.
Supervise Admissions mailings and correspondence to initial student inquiries. Execute mass emails to prospective students/parents. Coordinate with the Public Relations Office and various print shops in the development, production and printing of materials.
Conduct scholarship roster preparation, compilation and maintenance of data. Initiate scholarship offer letters from provided data.
Coordinate placement and training of scholarship/student workers within department.
Assist in coordination and participate in recruiting events, special events and workshops at various locations
Manage the admissions prospect data base, including processing prospective student information and database extraction. Serve as liaison with Information Technology. Supervise and/or initiate reports of recruit data.
Coordinate and manage the financial awarding of freshman academic scholarships. Issue all correspondence and quality assurance of both freshmen and transfer scholarships. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to efficiently operate a personal computer and associated software
Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately in a diverse environment, both in spoken language and in written communication
Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to coordinate special projects, prepare records and analyze reports.
Physical Requirements Sedentary Work:
Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Required Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree
A minimum of two (2) years of work experience that includes a focus on customer service, recruitment, marketing, communication, education, or other related fields.
