The Dean of Admission is the University of Memphis’ chief undergraduate admission officer, responsible for managing a diverse staff of admission professionals to identify and enroll a qualified class of first year and transfer students. The Dean will lead efforts to provide exemplary customer service to prospective students and their families, to build relationships with guidance counselors, and to supervise a diverse staff of admission professionals. The Dean will also influence the development of the institutional scholarship program. Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Management, the dean will be a key member of the Vice President’s cabinet providing best practice thinking to the development of the University’s recruitment strategies. Oversees the processing and acceptance of all undergraduate admission and readmission applications including evaluation of transfer credit and residency status. Ensures compliance of all university, state, and federal policies associated with undergraduate admissions. Duties & Responsibilities Leads the admissions team, providing direction, training and development. Mentors admission staff and develops a culture of accountability. Hires new admission counselors who are goal-focused and can articulate the benefits of a University of Memphis education.
