JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The Director of Student Affairs provides leadership and strategic direction for student recruitment, admissions, and student services in the College of Health Professions. This position develops and implements initiatives that enhance the student experience, from prospective student outreach to graduation. The Director of Student Affairs ensures alignment with institutional goals, compliance with policies, and the delivery of high-quality services that support student success. This position reports to the Executive Associate Dean for Academic, Faculty, and Student Affairs and supervises the Coordinator of Admissions and Recruitment and the Coordinator of Student Services. Oversees the admissions process, ensuring efficiency, transparency, and adherence to accreditation and institutional policies. Supervises application review procedures, selection processes, and coordination of faculty review committees. Develop and implement strategies to improve applicant yield and retention rates. Develop and implement a strategic recruitment plan to attract highly qualified applicants to the College of Health Professions. Oversees outreach initiatives, including participation in career fairs, high school and community college visits, and virtual information sessions. Manages and enhances digital recruitment materials, social media engagement, and website content to promote academic programs effectively. Develop and implement initiatives to support student academic advising, career services, and professional development. Collaborates with university offices, including financial aid, academic affairs, and student conduct, to support student success. Provides leadership and oversight for the Coordinator of Admissions and Recruitment and the Coordinator of Student Services. Addresses student concerns, grievances, and academic-related challenges in collaboration with college administration and faculty. Utilizes data analytics to assess recruitment strategies and optimize efforts based on enrollment trends. Ensures updates to Acalog and academic calendars are completed by established timelines. Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EXPERIENCE
Five (5) years of progressive experience in student affairs, admissions, or related areas within higher education; OR Master’s Degree in Higher Education or related field and two (2) years of progressive experience in student affairs, admissions, or related areas within higher education. Must have a valid Driver’s License.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Understanding of policies, procedures, and best practices in student affairs, recruitment, admissions, and enrollment management. Familiarity with academic programs, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements in health professions education. Knowledge of student retention strategies, academic advising, career services, and student engagement initiatives. Expertise in application review, admissions policies, selection criteria, and yield strategies. Understanding of inclusive recruitment practices, student support strategies, and campus climate initiatives. Knowledge of FERPA, ADA, Title IX, and other federal and state regulations impacting student services and admissions. Familiarity with enrollment trends, student success metrics, and reporting tools to inform decision-making. Proficiency in student information systems (e.g., Banner, Slate, CAS systems), CRM platforms, and virtual engagement tools. Ability to effectively manage and develop a team, delegate responsibilities, and foster a collaborative work environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills for engaging with students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position may occasionally be required to work weekends and evenings. May require occasional overnight travel.
