Position Overview:
The Admissions Clerk will be responsible for conducting and organizing administrative duties, initial screening for waiting list and conduct an interview and assessment for initial intake determining appropriateness for admission. The Admissions Clerk will be able to handle daily requirements associated with daily intakes, documentation and other issues as needed at the treatment center in accordance with training, licensure and/or grant funding requirements.
Qualifications:
High school diploma, required. Education and training in alcohol and drug treatment and diagnosis preferred, but not required. General knowledge in social and addiction terminology is helpful. Ability to operate general office machines as well as Microsoft Word and Excel.
Essential Job Functions:
Answer phone calls and get appropriate information in reference to adult admissions. Make decisions based on information obtained, for qualification for entry into program and appropriate funding source requirements. Schedule dates for new clients to arrive for admissions. Maintain accurate bedroom roster showing total number of clients and bedroom number. Complete new client paperwork in accordance with treatment center requirements. Perform searches of new clients. Document, update and maintain client files to ensure completion and standards are met. Keep other workers informed of client changes, especially clients who leave without completing the program. Ensure all new clients are scheduled to have an ASI within two (2) days of admission. Inform food service personnel of number of adult/adolescent meals required each day. Fill out list of clients who left or completed program and turn in to Billing Specialist as required.
