Job Summary East Tennessee State University (ETSU) is seeking an exceptional leader to join our team. As Department Chair, you will be entrusted with the vital responsibility of providing visionary leadership and administrative oversight within the department. This key position reports directly to the Dean of the College and serves as a vital member of the faculty, contributing to the vibrant educational and scholarly community at ETSU. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in a robust program of both research and teaching. You will be a strategic leader, playing a critical role in shaping the direction of your department, while overseeing faculty and staff development, resource management, and the successful delivery of academic programs. Your leadership will be integral in fostering a culture of excellence, driving student success, and enhancing the university’s impact both locally and globally. In addition to your academic leadership, you will actively contribute to the broader university community, participating in committees and initiatives that support the university’s mission. A solid record of teaching and scholarly activities required for a minimal appointment to the rank of associate professor.
