Job Summary The Executive Director of Housing and Residence Life designs and develops staffing structure to effectively accomplish the organization’s goals and objectives. Provides oversight for the development of staffing plans to ensure adequate coverage and directs the recruiting, selecting, hiring, supervising and evaluation process of over 100 professional, support, and student staff. The Executive Director of Housing and Residence Life is responsible for the administration and management of all on-campus housing facilities and works to develop a residential community that is responsive to student needs and fosters and promotes student learning and success. The Executive Director of Housing and Residence Life provides overall leadership and administration of Housing and Residential Life for East Tennessee State University. Serves as the senior housing officer responsible for the operation of the Housing and Residential Life program that serves approximately 3350 students living in 11 residence halls and apartments. Manages an annual budget of $20 million, supervises and directs full-time staff of 15, manages and maintains over 1 million square feet of residential facilities. Directs staff in providing a robust and comprehensive programming model that includes residential education and community building. Establishes and implements short-range and long-range organizational goals, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures. Evaluates operational effectiveness and programmatic effectiveness and leads change for improvement. The value of employment at ETSU goes far beyond salary. Three (3) years of experience at a senior housing management level position.
Three (3) years of supervisory experience.
Three (3) years of experience in facilities management. Preferred Qualifications Doctoral degree.
Five (5) years of experience at a senior housing management level position. Salary Starting at $110,000, with potential for adjustment based on qualifications, education, and relevant experience.
