This is a Hybrid position requiring 60% travel to varies acute care hospitals and working remotely What you’ll do: The Manager of Perinatal Education role is pivotal in supporting our hospitals and clinics across the country by providing education aimed at improving maternal and newborn patient outcomes. This role will assess, develop, coordinate and lead perinatal education content and plans across Lifepoint Health through evidence-based education programs to promote competency for perinatal nursing. Reporting to the Director of Professional Clinical Practice and consulting with the AVP of Women and Children’s Service line, the Perinatal Educator will coordinate and lead the education plans related to the Perinatal departments across Lifepoint Health.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement educational programs focused on maternal and newborn care, tailored to the needs of rural hospitals and clinics. Work with hospital leaders to help develop education plans for perinatal departments. Utilize evidence based and current clinical practices when assisting hospital leaders. Oversee the instruction provided to hospitals in the field, ensuring consistency and quality. Manage the instructional program around perinatal components, including researching best practices and implementing up-to-date changes according to industry standards. Collaborate with physicians, APPs, and other healthcare professionals to create awareness of the unique issues facing rural maternal patients, including clinical factors and social determinants of health. Remain current with the latest research and best practices in perinatal care and incorporate this knowledge into training programs. Provide onsite assistance for drills/simulations and training to Lifepoint Health hospitals. Lead simulation training sessions to enhance the competencies of healthcare providers in rural settings. Lead and Monitor Fetal Monitoring Education to include increasing the number of instructors across Lifepoint Health. Identify educational resources /tools that hospitals can use to educate staff and providers and improve perinatal safety. Collaborate with the online education platforms to meet the education requirements of staff and providers in the perinatal departments. Provide ongoing support and resources to healthcare providers to ensure the highest standards of care for maternal and newborn patients. Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and make necessary adjustments to improve outcomes. Manages the loaning of learning models and equipment from the HSC to the field. Assist in the development, management, and maintenance of vendor relationships. Qualifications – Internal What you’ll need:

Education :

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required (Master’s degree preferred) with a current RN license and certification in perinatal nursing (e.g., RNC-OB).

Experience:

5 years’ experience developing and leading Nursing Education programs with experience in Perinatal Simulations, maternal and newborn care, with a focus on healthcare settings.

Certifications:

Certification by NCC in Obstetrics. Certified

AWHONN EFM

Instructor. Certified NRP Instructor.

Additional:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. AWHONN Member. Ability to travel to various hospitals and clinic locations as needed.
