Job Summary/Basic Function The Department of History at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for two full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) faculty positions (#126360 and #169010) at the rank of lecturer. These are one-year temporary appointments. The lecturer’s contract may be renewed annually based on available funding, demonstrated need, and satisfactory performance as assessed by annual evaluations. The start date for the appointments is August 1, 2025. The successful candidates are expected to teach general education courses in history. Our general education curriculum includes United States History, Tennessee History, World Civilization, Western Civilization, and African American History courses. Required Education A PhD in history or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.
