Qualifications:
Current Alabama Teacher’s Certification, Bachelor’s Degree or Higher with an endorsement in history/social science
Essential Duties:
Create a history program and classroom environment favorable to learning and personal growth. Establish effective rapport with students. Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good educational foundation. Utilize technology to motivate students and prepare students for the 21st century Participate in school-related activities that enhance teacher, student, parent, and community relations. Analyze different data sources in making data-driven decisions for instruction Establish positive relationships with students, parents, co-workers, volunteers, and other visitors. Meets and instructs assigned students in the location and at the times designated. Displays personal conduct which sets an example for students to emulate. Monitors and evaluates students’ progress on a regular basis, using appropriate assessment techniques and materials. Recognizes school administrators as the instructional leaders of the school and works cooperatively by providing in a timely manner, information requested for instructional improvement, school reports and planning. Uses effective methods of discipline in the classroom which encourages self- discipline, and assists in implementing school rules and regulations. Supervises students in a responsible manner in the classroom and other areas of the school as assigned. Administers tests required by the L.E.A.D. and the ALSDE evaluates students’ progress on a regular basis, using appropriate assessment techniques and materials.
