K-8 Religion Teacher

06/12/2025 St. James Catholic School in North Miami, Florida is seeking to hire a K-8 Religion Teacher for the 2025-26 school year. This candidate should be professional, disciplined and be a team player. The candidate should be willing to take on extracurricular duties as requested by the principal. This teacher will be expected to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate Religion instructional program as well as coordinate and plan weekly school masses, and religious events. The Religion Teacher performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Salary will vary based on education and years of service.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies, Theology, or related field.
Florida Department of Education Teaching certificate is recommended, temporary or professional.
Catechist certification preferred.
Excellent organizational skills.
Strong presentation skills with use of instructional technologies.
Proficiency with Google Classroom.
Excellent oral and written English communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
Knowledge of tenets of Catholic Church and parish structures.
Fully committed, supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church, with experience in teaching Religion in a Catholic School.
Practicing Catholic in good standing who fully adheres to and models the Roman Catholic Church teachings in faith and morals.
Must have a professional demeanor.
