QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors’ degree or higher; Valid Georgia Teacher certification or Charter Waiver Eligible; Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and the Board may find appropriate.

Excellent communication and organizational skills; Proficiency in educational technology and digital resources for teaching and learning; Ability to relate to and motivate all students in a positive manner with respect; Ability to perform routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibility.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance; Completes all records and reports on time and with accuracy; Be present, organized, and enthusiastically committed to the success of all students; Develops and implements comprehensive lesson plans aligned with state standards and curriculum guidelines, covering a range of historical periods, events, and themes; Delivers dynamic and engaging instruction that stimulates students’ interest in history, using a variety of teaching methods such as lectures, discussions, multimedia presentations, and hands-on activities; Assesses student learning through a variety of formative and summative assessments, including tests, quizzes, projects, essays, and presentations. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to guide their academic progress; Maintains a supportive and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning, ensuring that all students are actively engaged and respectful of one another; Differentiates instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles, abilities, and interests, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to succeed and reach their full potential; Provide individualized support and guidance to students as needed, including academic assistance, counseling, and mentorship, to promote their academic and personal growth; Counsels with students and parents on learning and discipline problems as necessary; Collaborates with colleagues, administrators, and parents to foster a positive and supportive learning community, participating in department meetings, professional development activities, and parent-teacher conferences as required; Stays informed about current trends, best practices, and research in history education, participating in professional development activities and continuing education opportunities to enhance teaching effectiveness and student learning outcomes; Supervises or assists in the supervision of school activities as assigned; Performs related duties as assigned as circumstances require; Maintains satisfactory performance on the system Evaluation Instrument; Performs other such duties needed or assigned by the Principal/Supervisor.
