Job Description:
The Department of Communication Studies at Louisiana State University seeks full-time instructors for the 2025-2026 academic year. We seek scholars to be engaged in our community and departmental events to teach core undergraduate courses and organize interdisciplinary events. Applicants may specialize in any area within Communication Studies, including Performance Studies, Rhetoric, and Interpersonal. Instructors will be expected to teach primary courses in the department such as Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, Introduction to Performing Literature, Communication for Business and the Professions, Argumentation and Debate, Small Group Communication, and may have opportunities to teach upper division courses (including special topics that reflect their interests). Minimum Qualifications are a Master’s or equivalent degree in Communication Studies or a related field with evidence of outstanding teaching. Preferred qualifications are experience with teaching courses such as public speaking, communication for business and the professions, fundamentals of communication, and small group communication.
