History Teacher Role:
As the History Teacher, you will lead US and World History classes as well as an advisory. We are looking for a History teacher who learns, teaches, and approaches the world’s complexities from multiple perspectives. We are also looking for a teacher who is passionate about supporting students in learning history like historians.
Opportunity:
You will have the opportunity to support some of the most resilient students on their pathway to graduation and beyond within a small setting. There is an opportunity to build strong relationships with both your students and their families.
Team:
You will work alongside and collaborate with other History teachers in the school. You will meet with your team each week in a professional learning community for professional development, to talk about student work, and to support instruction. You will also work alongside another educator to support a cohort of students as an advisor.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree Required/ Master’s Degree preferred; Valid Massachusetts Teaching License in History or ability to obtain license requirements; Current Authorization to work in the United States. Salary and benefits in accordance with the Lawrence Teachers Union contract and LPS policy.

$56,415

The High School Learning Center (HLC) works with over-aged and under-credited students in the Lawrence Public Schools. We are an autonomous high school located at 1 Parker Street in Lawrence, MA. HLC offers various pathways to graduation. Students at HLC can be enrolled full time or part time, have in-person classes, hybrid or online classes, or a flexible schedule personalized to meet their individual needs. Many of our classes are of a small size (6-10 students), allowing the opportunity for students and staff to build strong relationships.
