The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and engaging students in the study of history, geography, civics, and economics. This role involves developing lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and promoting critical thinking skills among students. The Social Studies Teacher will also collaborate with colleagues to enhance the educational experience and support the overall mission of our private school. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with curriculum standards in social studies. Educate students on various topics including history, geography, civics, and economics through interactive teaching methods. Utilize research-based strategies to enhance student understanding and retention of material. Provide tutoring support to students who require additional assistance in social studies concepts. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and classroom activities. Engage in copy editing of educational materials to ensure clarity and accuracy. Collaborate with library services to integrate resources into lesson planning. Adapt teaching methods to accommodate special education needs within the classroom. Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and respect for diverse perspectives. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field with a focus on Social Studies or History. Valid teaching certification for the relevant grade level. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect with students effectively. Experience in lesson planning and curriculum development is preferred. Familiarity with tutoring techniques and special education practices is advantageous. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment in a private school setting.
