High School History Teacher 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars West Mifflin, PA 15122 We are seeking a passionate and mission-aligned High School History Teacher to lead students through an inspiring and rigorous study of history. This role focuses especially on American history, civics, economics, and the Western tradition, all through the lens of a biblical worldview and classical education philosophy.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach high school courses in American History, Government, Economics, and Classical Western Civilization. Integrate biblical truth into all historical study, emphasizing the providence of God in human events. Champion the founding ideals of America—liberty, virtue, and self-government. Encourage thoughtful debate and critical thinking on economics, political philosophy, and citizenship, especially from a free-market and Austrian economics perspective. Foster love for country and a respect for its founding documents and moral framework. Create an orderly, joyful, and intellectually stimulating classroom. Collaborate with fellow faculty in cultivating a unified, Christ-centered school culture. Participate in school-wide events, professional development, and spiritual life.
Qualifications:
A deep personal faith in Jesus Christ and a clear commitment to Christian discipleship. Must be actively engaged in a local Bible believing church community. Bachelor’s degree in History, Education, Political Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred but not essential). A love for classical education and the Great Books tradition. Passion for American history, the Constitution, and the principles of liberty. Familiarity with or commitment to free-market thought, especially the Austrian School (e.g. Hayek, Mises). Ability to engage teenagers with energy, clarity, and conviction. Strong communication skills, a teachable spirit, and a heart for mentorship.
