Job Description
This LTS position will be working primarily with 6th grade students delivering both Social Studies as well as English Language Arts curriculum. Someone with a dual certification would be preferred but we are able to obtain an emergency permit if a candidate only holds one certification. Wallingford-Swarthmore School District believes in all students. Under the supervision of the Principal, the successful candidate works to plan, prepare, and deliver instruction to students as a whole group while differentiating for the needs of the individual. Responsibilities:

Facilitate active learning while using relevant pedagogical practices and instructional technology to support and differentiate instruction.
Provide opportunities to stretch and grow students while providing appropriate challenge and support, particularly for students with GIEPs, IEPs, and/or English Language Learners (ELLs).
Observe and evaluate student performance outcomes; monitor the progress of students’ academic growth and development for the purposes of improving professional practice.
Contribute to content-based, cross-discipline, and/or student-based teams as a collaborative team member
Assign and grade classwork, homework, tests, assignments, and projects; provide appropriate and timely feedback.

Qualifications:

Ability to relate and communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
Valid Pennsylvania Instructional I or II English/Language Arts 7-12 or Middle Level ELA 6-9; Social Studies 7-12 or Middle Level Social Studies 6-9; or Elementary Education K-6; dual content cert (Social Studies and ELA) preferred
Bachelor’s degree
Prior experience preferred
