Organizational Unit Overview East Carolina University is an emerging national research university with an enrollment of nearly 27,000 students. Job Duties The School of Social Work is seeking applicants for a 9-month, full-time, fixed-term Teaching Instructor or Senior Teaching Instructor (non-tenure) position to begin August 2025 or January 2026.
Faculty responsibilities include teaching in the BSW and MSW programs (including in-person and online courses, and on Saturdays), service to the profession, university, and community, and other duties as assigned.
Contingent upon availability of funds.
Minimum Education/Experience Applicants must hold an MSW from a CSWE accredited program and have a minimum of 2 years full-time post-MSW practice experience.
Qualifying degrees must be received from regionally accredited institutions.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation None
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education We are seeking individuals who can advance our mission of excellence in social work education through innovative teaching; who have evidence of experience or interest in working with students of all backgrounds; and who possess a demonstrated commitment to non-discriminatory practice and education as aligned with the CSWE accreditation standards.
Applicants with 5 or more years of teaching experience in social work higher education are preferred.
Applicants with 2 or more years of administrative experience in human serving organizations are preferred.
