Flexible Traditional Face-to-Face and Online Instruction The Lane College Mass Communication Department is seeking a Mass Communication faculty specializing in Digital and written Media with ability to teach in a range of courses within field areas such as broadcast/media writing, communication, public relations, and digital media. Additional teaching may include courses as needed by the department and applicable to the candidate’s specialty area.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop student learning outcomes. Create course objectives. Implement and instruct students using various instructional modes for traditional, hybrid or online setting. Execute teaching strategies, monitor, and evaluate student progress, and maintain accurate student records. Academic advising and mentoring students. Serve on various college committees. Participation/services in departmental, divisional, and institutional activities Attend scheduled business program / colloquial, division, and college staff meetings. Contribute to the college and community environment. Teaching 4-5 classes (12-15 hours) each semester. Qualifications Master’s with teaching experience. MFA in Communication or Doctorate preferred. Two years of teaching experience. The ideal candidate will have experience in hands-on teaching and familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, Blackboard, hybrid/online courses, and the ability to utilize innovative modalities for delivering course content. The ability to design lessons that teach curriculum in an engaging manner, applying various teaching methods, lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and individual or collaborative projects and research. Requires some walking and ability to climb stairs, possibly sitting long periods of time, ability to lift up to 10lbs. 1% of the time and minimum travel. Some nights and weekends may be needed .
