Job Description
Are you a certified educator looking to inspire and empower students? Do you believe in the importance of meeting students where they are—academically, socially, and emotionally? Barre City Elementary and Middle School is seeking a dedicated teacher to join our CARES Team for the 2025/2026 school year and help students build the skills they need to succeed.
The CARES team provides a safe, nurturing environment for a small group of multi-grade students who benefit from flexible learning structures and social-emotional support. You’ll be part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team of behavior student support staff and other licensed educators, all working together to make a lasting difference.
As a CARES Teacher, you will:
- Develop and implement individualized academic plans that meet students’ diverse needs.
- Foster a supportive classroom environment that encourages growth, confidence, and social-emotional regulation.
- Collaborate closely with the team to integrate trauma-informed practices and behavioral strategies
into your teaching. - Inspire a love of learning and help students navigate challenges to achieve success.
Qualifications:
- Certified VT Teacher (License or eligible for licensure)
- Bachelor’s Degree
- A passion for meeting the needs of diverse learners
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team
