Job Description:
Adjunct (part-time) instructors are hired on an as-needed, term-by-term (or per course) basis. By ing for this position, you will be joining the part-time instructional pool for consideration as a prospective adjunct instructor. The individual filling this position is expected to play a positive role in helping the College change as necessary to effectively carryout its mission. The Adjunct Instructor is directly accountable to the Public Safety Training Center Director for the following duties and responsibilities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide classroom instruction.
Utilize current FDLE curriculum and course materials to include scenario based training.
Be fully prepared and on time.
Maintain a professional appearance of business casual attire or agency uniform while instructing.
Maintain course attendance per FDLE and college guidelines.
Be familiar and abide by all Public Safety Training Center and college policies.
Support students by engaging them in class, answering questions in a timely manner, and referring them for additional support when necessary.
Complete annual mandatory compliance training.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Training Center Director.
Requirements:
Current FDLE General Instructor Certification AND three (3) years of in-field experience
OR professional or technical certification or three years of experience in the specified subject matter documented per FDLE requirements. High Liability course instruction will require a current FDLE Instructor Certification for each area.
Post-secondary teaching experience preferred.
Proficiency with current teaching technologies
Experience in student engagement techniques.
Excellent oral and written communication skills required. •All degrees must be from a regionally accredited postsecondary institution.
