Librarian Librarian:
Must hold a valid Alabama Teacher Certificate with certification and HQ status in Library/Media. Must be able to utilize technology programs to administer library media services in an elementary school. The librarian must provide a program that includes organized resources and appropriate instructional activities in an environment conducive to learning as well as teach such skills as may be required at various times. Additional responsibilities include preparation of budget, selection and evaluation of media and instructional materials and equipment to support the curriculum, organizing resources for optimum accessibility for students and faculty, coordinating the library media program with school and system goals and objectives, providing instruction in operation of hardware as necessary, implementing other programs, and working with students, faculty, staff and parents as needed. Additional duties may be assigned by the principal. Reports to Principal Duty Days•187 Salary•Applicants selected for certified positions must have undergone an ABI/FBI criminal history background check (fingerprinting administered through sites selected and approved by the WCBOE and State of Alabama Education Department) and been declared suitable and fit to teach under state law.
