Job Description
The Librarian is considered an expert in providing high quality research to Toxicologists and other subject matter experts as well as managing the CTEH digital library of approximately 70,000 items in Readcube/Papers, as well as a small physical library. They will work seamlessly with various experts in assisting to cite their reports using Readcube Papers SmartCite. The Librarian should be very familiar with advanced online searching in PubMed and utilization of MeSH subheadings. They will also need to be familiar with interlibrary loan policies (experience with EFTS, DocLine, and OCLC Worldshare highly preferred), collection development and management, and working with various vendors necessary to having a successful library program. Proofreading competency is also preferred. Familiarity with any citation manager (Endnote, Mendeley, Zotero, etc.) is required but experience with Readcube/Papers is highly preferred. Experience conducting systematic literature review searches is not required, but highly preferred. Knowledge of legal searches, scientific regulations, and general federal/state regulation research is highly desirable. The successful candidate will be confident in their ability to troubleshoot technical problems between Microsoft Word, ReadCube Papers, and Microsoft Sharepoint. This person must be able to work independently after initial training and be self-driven enough to regularly engage with our experts.

ACTIVITIES/TASKS/SCOPE
Manage all interlibrary loan requisitions for the company and keep accurate records for said requisitions as required by the National Library of Medicine lending program Assist in finalizing reports through adding citations and proofreading Selects, acquires, catalogues, classifies, circulates, and maintains library materials and collections. This can be electronically in ReadCube/Papers (or other electronic system) or physical. Develops, manages, and implements various databases and information systems to catalogs and access information. Assist with maintaining a CTEH style guide for citations, mostly based on APA 7th Edition Weekly discussions with experts on literature searches needed and other research opportunities Maintain billable work level Keep reference library of academic, federal, state, and various testing regulations maintained Establish SOPs for library processes Train backup personnel for times when librarian is absent/unavailable Assist with business development projects Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & CREDENTIALS A
bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Sciences or English from an ALA Accredited university is required A Master of Library and Information Science, Master of Library Science or equivalent degree is preferred Preferred background is specialization in special libraries, legal libraries, health science/medical libraries and/or prior scientific/medical/legal background A paralegal degree certification/degree and/or JD would be a significant plus
