S/he is responsible for the library program and seeks to ensure that the library’s academic and technology resources complement, enhance, and extend the school’s educational program. S/he is also a teacher-leader, responsible for leading the community in the development of a school-wide educational technology strategic plan. S/he oversees the use of education-related technology and assists faculty and students in integrating appropriate and innovative technologies to support, enhance, and extend learning. Essential Duties and Responsibilities As a Library Media Specialist, this individual will: Ensure that the library’s academic and technical resources advance the school’s educational program. Collaborate with classroom teachers in the curriculum design process. Develop policies and programming that will establish standards for and definitions of the full range of literacy skills (information, media, visual, digital, and technological literacy) and bolster support for library services that contribute to an information-literate student body. Foster an environment of creativity, innovation, and a love of reading and learning. Prepare and manage the library budget. Develop, acquire, and maintain a collection of resources appropriate to the curriculum, the students, the instructional strategies of the school’s faculty, and the school’s mission. Maintain a circulation system that ensures the prompt return of materials and their ready availability to other borrowers. Provide instruction for students in the use of library resources. Empower students to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, and knowledgeable researchers. Instill a love of reading and learning in students and ensure their equitable access to information. Participate in the recruitment, training, and supervision of library volunteers. Act as an advocate for the library, share expertise at faculty meetings, serve on academic committees, and take an active role in accreditation processes. Network with local librarians, maintain active memberships in professional associations, and promote the school in the wider community. Facilitate personal growth through professional development opportunities. Perform other duties as assigned by the head of school. As an Educational Technology Coordinator, this individual will: Spearhead technology initiatives that support teaching and learning and advance the school’s mission. Research and evaluate new and emerging educational technologies and support faculty in their implementation and integration. Collaborate with faculty, administrators, the school’s IT team, and the Science & Innovation Specialist on specific needs and growth opportunities. Assist faculty in the use and integration of age and grade-appropriate technology applications across the school. Promote a school-wide effort to stay current with technological knowledge and skills. Network with local, regional, and national technology associations. Facilitate personal growth through professional development opportunities. Perform other duties as assigned by the head of school.

Minimum Requirements Education X High School Doctorate Associate Degree Trade School X Bachelor’s Degree Other:

X Master’s Degree Years of Experience Must possess a minimum of five years of experience as a teacher, teacher leader, or administrator. Specific Skills Master’s degree in Library and Information Science, Curriculum Design, Educational Technology, or a similar discipline. Demonstrated knowledge of instructional technology hardware, software, and related web-based or other tools, information technology, systems management, as well as network development and management Demonstrated success working with faculty in all disciplines to identify instructional needs to enable/enhance student learning Classroom teaching experience Fluency and comfort with both PC and Macintosh operating systems Fluency and proficiency with Google Apps for Education Excellent interpersonal skills and cultural competencies Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Able to work collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers Passionate about working with and inspiring children of all ages License or Certification Requirements X Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification X Current teaching certificate preferred X Meets requirements of applicable FCIS standards X Current Safeguarding God’s Children certificate Physical Conditions Work Environment X Parish Center/Classrooms X Outdoors Physical Environment X Lifting X Walking X Stretching X Exposure to cold/heat Additional Physical Requirements The physical part of this position varies a great deal and changes daily.
