Duties Manage day-to-day operations of the library, including circulation, cataloging, and inventory of books and materials Curate and maintain a collection of literature and educational resources Assist students and teachers in locating and using print and digital resources Promote reading and literacy through book displays, reading programs, and library events Collaborate with faculty to support classroom instruction and research projects Maintain a quiet, organized, and respectful atmosphere conducive to reading and study Ensure library materials reflect and support the academy’s mission and values Communicate with Scholastic Book company, arranging for parent volunteers, and working the fair (additional hours after school and evening) Read aloud to PreK and Kindergarten classes Teach students research skills, digital citizenship, and library etiquette Maintain library records and reports as required Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Education, or related field Prior experience in a library or school setting preferred Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Familiarity with library management systems and digital resources Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and students across grade levels Exemplary Christian role model who lets his or her “light shine” Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry books or boxes weighing up to 25 pounds Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching Ability to push and pull carts loaded with books or materials Manual dexterity for operating computer equipment and handling library materials Visual and auditory ability to effectively interact with students and staff and to manage the library environment Reports to: School Principal
