Located in the heart of Manhattan, this position offers a unique opportunity to support a thriving community of artists while preserving the rich history and resources that inspire their craft.
Some Things You’ll Do:
Organize and maintain our physical and digital library of books, plays, CDs, DVDs, and scene materials Support faculty and students with research and distribution of classroom content Maintain and update databases and metadata for scenes, anthologies, and music Assist with performance rights licensing for annual public productions Coordinate archive submissions to the NYPL for the Performing Arts Scan, format, watermark, and archive copyrighted materials in compliance with educational use Share updated digital catalogs with faculty and students Provide basic troubleshooting support for office hardware (desktop, printer, scanner)
What We’re Looking For:
Interest in and knowledge of the performing arts is strongly preferred Excellent organizational skills and comfort managing metadata Experience with digital archiving and file formatting Familiarity with Apple macOS, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office Basic understanding of copyright law, especially regarding educational use A collaborative, adaptable, and resourceful mindset MLIS or equivalent library/archives experience preferred This is a legacy role at a storied institution.
