Position Overview Develop new concepts and fixture designs while managing existing global fixture libraries for wholesale and small-format retail stores. Libraries include store fixtures, displays, signage, and millwork detailing for all Ralph Lauren brands. Project types include retail pop-ups, trade shows, specialty shops, showrooms, and fixture design. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Develop and manage and retail concepts for key brands – oversee all aspects of fixture design, millwork production from schematic phase to completion. Use SketchUp to develop new concepts and fixture designs that are in line with the creative vision for each brand. Develop detailed technical AutoCAD drawings for new designs and create finish specifications and fixture codes following existing standards. Keep existing AutoCAD drawings and specifications up to date, including store fixtures, displays, signage and millwork detailing. Work closely with Store Planning teams to gather requirements for new fixtures, advise on fixture usage and improve design solutions whenever possible. Review and approve millwork shop drawings for production. Coordinate fixture construction details with millworkers to ensure RL quality standards are met. Review and approve finish samples and prototypes, providing detailed feedback to suppliers. Work closely with the Procurement team to coordinate millworker sourcing which includes qualification, pricing, and on-boarding. Provide guidance to the CAD team for the development of planning grids and planning assets. Support planning teams to ensure project alignment as needed. EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Interior Design or Furniture Design
EXPERIENCE
2-4 years of project management/design experience in high-end architecture/interior, millwork, fixtures, furniture, cabinetry and/or related industries.
Preferred but not required:
Experience in retail/commercial millwork/fixture design and production.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office Proficiency in reading/interpreting DD/CD drawing sets, millwork drawings and shop drawings. Knowledge of woodworking materials, fabrication techniques, millwork standards, construction details, and installation methods.
SOFT SKILLS
Strong team management abilities. Strong attention to detail and highly organized. Good communication/negotiation skills, both written and verbal Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
