Helping them find a great read, the answer to a homework problem, and just brightening up their day? The White Plains Public Library has openings for Part-Time Librarians in our Youth Services Department, with a focus on working in the Edge, our teen library. Duties include, but are not limited to Providing circulation assistance, customer service, reference, reader’s advisory, and homework help in the Edge, our Teen Library for grades 7-12. Overseeing the Edge during its busiest hours and ensuring teen patrons have a rewarding experience while also following the Library’s code of conduct. Occasionally working in the Trove, our children’s library. Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in library or information science (MLS/MSIS). Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. NYS Public Librarian Certificate. Bilingual Spanish speaking is strongly preferred. Required Skills Ability to work with a diverse group of children, teens and adults. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Being very approachable and welcoming, while enforcing the Library’s rules and code of conduct. Ability to work independently. Shifts include Monday-Wednesday 4-7pm, Fridays 3-6pm, and some weekend hours.

Rate of pay:
