Back Mountain Memorial Library Position Summary:

The Back Mountain Memorial Library is seeking a part-time business manager. The position will also include 4 hours of coverage in the children’s department every other week and helping to provide coverage at the circulation desk as needed.

General Duties:

• Order office supplies and ensure that areas are well stocked
• Maintain petty cash and prepare report for board meeting
• Prepare bank deposits
• Assist with filing and clerical work for yearly fundraisers (Farmers Market, Auction, etc.)
• Maintain records for annual fundraiser donations
• Oversee the memorial bricks (purchase and engraving)
• Occasionally run errands such as to the post office or to purchase supplies
• Cover new books
• Assist in covering the front desk and waiting on patrons as needed including placing holds, finding books or helping with the computer
• Maintain the archival newspaper files
• Provides coverage in the children’s department for one shift every other week
• Occasional shelving of materials
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Previous customer service experience preferred
• Previous cash handling experience preferred
• Willingness to work as part of a team and individually
• Ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
• Must be able to push carts, bend and lift items
• Background check and clearances This position will be approximately 20 hours per week and may include night or weekend hours.
