Legal Research Librarian (Judiciary) 3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars 1 Capitol Hill, Providence, RI 02908 JOB Using traditional and electronic research methods, the Research Librarian provides legal research, reference, and bibliographical assistance to the courts, state government agencies, attorneys, self-represented litigants, and citizens of the state. The Research Librarian is responsible for providing professional consultation to judges and court units; for providing training to lawyers, students, staff and others on the use of electronic resources such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, HeinOnline and other legal research databases; for performing periodic reviews of new and existing resources to ensure improved service and research efficiencies. The Research Librarian will assist the Law Librarian in the promotion of the Law Library and four county libraries to departments within the Judiciary, state and federal agencies, students, vendors, and the public. The Research Librarian will be cross-trained on other Law Library responsibilities and will be required to perform all other related duties as may be assigned by the Law Librarian. The Research Librarian may be required to work in any of the Law Library’s five (5) locations.
