Bookmobile Librarian Position Available In Florence, South Carolina

#### Job DescriptionThe Bookmobile Librarian drives and operates the Florence County Library System Bookmobile, provides outreach library services to various childrens groups, and provides readers advisory services.

Essential Functions

• Drives bookmobile on established routes and schedules
• Provides exceptional customer service to external and internal customers. Responds to and resolves patron questions or concerns
• Checks materials in and out, creates and updates patron accounts, shelves materials, and assists patrons in finding materials. Monitors institutional patron accounts
• Creates displays, decorations, fliers, and passive programming activities to engage patrons and foster an interest in reading
• Administers Bookmobile social media accounts on a variety of platforms
• Represents the library at festivals and community events. Distributes books, fliers, activity kits, and other resources
• Tracks and reports usage statistics for programs, collections, attendance, and social media engagement
• Maintains cleanliness and appearance of Bookmobile, regularly inspects for damage, and reports maintenance issues.

Non-Essential Functions

• Assists with Childrens Services and Circulation desks as needed
• Conducts or assists with story time and other childrens programs as needed
• Attends various meetings, trainings, and workshops
• Participates in the librarys ongoing developmental training program
• Performs all other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

Education and Work Experience

• Bachelors Degree; 1-2 years of library or customer service experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge and skills
• Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, and office equipment
• Must possess a valid South Carolina drivers license and excellent driving record.

• Must be able to safely operate and drive 25 ft. Bookmobile
• Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, carry, move and lift 20 lb. objects regularly
• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• The employee must have the ability to travel up to 5%.
