JOB GOAL
: To provide a well-organized, functioning media center environment in which teachers and students can take full advantage of available resources.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
: 187 days. Salary to be determined by Board of Education approved Salary Schedule for the position of Teacher. Placement on the Salary Schedule to be determined by degree and years of experience.
EVALUATION
: Performance of this job will be evaluated according to established Board policies.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
: Operates and supervises the media center. Evaluates, selects and requisitions new media center materials. Assists teachers in the selection of books, and other media center materials. Maintains software and hardware equipment pertinent to the overall operation of the media center. Maintains the media center to ensure it is an engaging and organized learning environment for students. Arranges frequently changing book-related displays and exhibits likely to interest the media center patrons. Inventories all materials and equipment. Provides instruction to students in library skills and literature development. Participates in required staff meetings. Prepares and administers the media center budget. Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate satisfactory use of all types of technological-media equipment. Assists in daily duties, of which may be car duty, extra-curricular duties whenever students are involved in school activities. Performs other duties as may be assigned.
