Position Information
These Part-Time Library Technician positions are located at the West Cobb Regional Library Staff in each of these positions work 18 hours per week including nights and weekends and 4 hours (1:00 – 5:00 pm) on scheduled Sundays These positions will, among other duties, assist patrons with online resources and checking library materials in and out
Candidates for the West Cobb Regional Library will have an opportunity to train to become a US Department of State Passport Acceptance Agent Essential Functions
Circulation/information services including: checking books in and out; registering patrons for library cards; registering patrons for voter registration cards
Take fines for overdue books
Assist in keeping daily statistics
Develops and maintains a working knowledge about the organization and care of library materials, library services and programs
Performs other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required; supplemented by six or more months of work experience involving public interaction/customer service
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates should enjoy working with the public and downloading ebooks onto personal devices
Candidates should be comfortable using online resources to assist patrons
Physical Abilities
Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds) Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station
Sensory Requirements
Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally
