This position involves a combination of data entry, research, and communication tasks to support library functions and enhance user experience. Responsibilities Assist patrons with checking in and checking out library materials using an Integrated Library System. Maintain accurate records through data entry and data collection to ensure the integrity of the library’s inventory. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patron inquiries and resolving issues related to library services. Communicate effectively with team members and patrons to promote library programs and resources. Organize and file documents related to circulation processes and patron accounts. Conduct research as needed to support library initiatives or assist patrons with specific information requests. Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a welcoming environment for all visitors. Skills Proficiency in computerized systems for data entry and management. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patrons and colleagues. Experience with customer service principles, demonstrating patience and professionalism in all interactions. Familiarity with Integrated Library Systems is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Ability to type efficiently while maintaining accuracy in data entry tasks. Strong organizational skills to manage files and maintain orderly records within the library setting. Research skills to assist patrons in locating information or resources effectively. This position is essential for maintaining the smooth operation of circulation services within the library, contributing to a positive experience for all users while supporting the overall mission of promoting literacy and access to information.
