As a key member stationed at our Headquarters Library, you’ll engage in diverse responsibilities, including circulation duties and delivering proactive customer service to ensure patrons’ needs are promptly addressed. Examples of Duties Check out and check in of library materials Assist customers with author, title and subject searches Processes Inter-Library Loan materials as received through mail and by customers Pulls requested materials from shelves Maintains the collection including snags, replacing broken cases, light repair of items, changing item call numbers per Technical Services and cleaning discs Ensures all library users have a welcoming place to meet and interact with others by performing Evanced Room Reservation duties daily, including accepting/declines reservations based on policy and ensuring LCD unit, microphones, PA system and other requested equipment is set up Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED and one (1) year of public contact experience and familiarity with basic library procedures and a demonstrated knowledge of computers. Must be able to spell accurately and possess keyboarding skills.

Mangers Preference :

Library experience is preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of purposes and use of libraries; including Dewey Decimal System Knowledge of library collection Knowledge of operation and use of various audiovisual equipment Ability to follow instructions Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public and co-workers Ability to orally communicate clearly and effectively Ability to maintain effective relationships with other employees and management Ability to use computers, competently manipulate keyboard and spell accurately
