Job Description:
Our part-time Clerk II in our Library performs a variety of routine clerical duties to support the organization and distribution of library materials. While new tasks come with specific instructions and most procedures are well-established, the role requires the ability to exercise independent judgment in applying them to particular situations. Key responsibilities include checking materials in and out, processing renewals and reserves, handling overdue items, shelving returned and new items by identification numbers, and operating standard office equipment. Additional duties involve inspecting audiovisual materials, recording usage statistics, assisting with inventory, providing basic directional information to patrons, arranging book displays and exhibits, and helping with book and supply orders. This is a public-facing position that involves regular interaction with library visitors.

Experience Required:
None Experience Preferred:
Good knowledge of business arithmetic and English; working knowledge of library filing and shelving procedures; working knowledge of office terminology, procedures and equipment; ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions; ability to get along well with others; ability to write legibly; clerical aptitude; neatness of appearance; tact and courtesy in dealing with staff and public; physical conditions commensurate with the demands of the position.

Hours:
Monday-Thursday 9am-1pm, Friday 9am-12pm for 19 hours per week.
