Job Responsibilities
Job Purpose:
Under general supervision, conducts basic information literacy sessions, coordinates acquisitions of all library materials, orders materials, catalogs materials, and manages reference and circulation services.
Job Functions:
Prepares and provides basic information literacy (IL) instruction to in-person and online courses upon faculty request. Ensures IL sessions are evaluated, with data analyzed and reported for SACSCOC compliance. Maintains online information literacy resources, including tutorials. Conducts library tours and orientations.
Responds to reference questions using a wide array of reference and information resources, knowledge, and expertise. Provides circulation services to patrons.
Manages collection of appropriate print and electronic resources to support the academic schools and other college areas. Performs copy and original cataloging to Library of Congress Standards using automated library systems.
Serves as one of TCL’s contacts for the PASCAL Shared Library Services Platform (SLSP). Participates in PASCAL working groups and committees as needed. Attends local, regional, state, and national meetings upon request
Trains and supervises student workers.
Performs all other related duties as may be assigned
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A Master’s Degree in library science or related field from an ALA accredited college or university and two (2) years professional library experience.
