Library Assistant The Timrod Library 217 Central Avenue, Summerville, SC 29483 The Timrod Library in Summerville, South Carolina, has an opening for a Library Assistant. This position reports 10 hours per week and is a permanent, part-time position. The position of Library Assistant is key to the operation and atmosphere of the Timrod Library, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit membership library. Job Description Maintain a friendly and welcoming environment in the library. Assist patrons with finding books, checking books in and out, answering the telephone, signing up and renewing memberships, etc. Complete daily accounting procedures. Shelve books daily, and keep shelves neat and tidy. Process new materials and maintain existing materials. Complete weekly tasks as assigned by Library Director Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Excellent customer service skills. Proficient in Internet use and Microsoft Office Suite.
