The instructor will adhere to the general faculty guidelines as specified by the Calhoun Community College Personnel Handbook, the Vice President of Academic Affairs, and the Alabama Community College System policy.

Applicants must provide information from previous employers documenting full-time related work experience if an offer is made.## Essential Duties and Responsibilities1. Teach at varied times and places and in varied formats based on student demand; day or evening, on the Decatur Campus or at other sites, including dual enrollment, traditional classroom, hybrid or web format, and distance education.2. Provide competent classroom and laboratory instruction in the area of credentialed expertise.3. Evaluate the progress of students in all classes according to institutional, divisional, departmental, and individual criteria.4. Collect, maintain, and submit accurate class records including grades, attendance rosters, absences, withdrawal, and/or class drop information to appropriate offices.5. Prepare or assist in the preparation of materials used in academic administration when requested, including course syllabi, program outlines, and catalog material.6. Assist in the development of discipline-specific student learning outcome objectives.7. Assess student learning using multiple assessment strategies.8. Analyze and interpret data relative to student learning and provide feedback to the institution and students for the purpose of improving and expanding student learning.9. Participate in scheduled in-service activities.10. Provide academic and career advice to students and promote student leadership and enrichment experiences.11. Be prompt and punctual in reporting for work. Maintain assigned office hours.12. Maintain or increase competency in the chosen specialty by seeking new knowledge, improving teaching skills, and updating professional competencies.13. Promote positive and productive relationships with service area businesses, industries, and agencies.14. Perform all duties with professionalism.15. Provide advice to the administration on matters pertaining to the instructional program.16. Serve on committees engaged in furthering the work of the institution when appointed or when elected.17. Become familiar with institutional policies and procedures as outlined in the

## Qualifications1. A minimum of a Masters degree from an accredited institution with at least 18 gradate semester hours in Mathematics is required.2. Documented experience teaching college-level mathematics courses is required.3. Documented expertise in the use of current educational technologies in the classroom is required.4. Documented experience using a learning management system (Blackboard, Canvas, etc.) is required.5. Documented experience utilizing mathematics software (e.g., Pearson MyLab and Mastering, McGraw-Hill ALEKS, Cengage WebAssign, etc.) is required.

Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate through their experiences and accomplishments:

Excellent oral and written communication skills;Documented successful experience teaching and/or developing web-based courses;Ability to conduct individual and small group instruction;
